The Icecreamists: Indulgently Sexy New Ice Cream

By Laura Silver

People, most likely people with a belly full of Phish Food, have been known to say that Ice Cream is as good as sex. Better than sex even. Those filthy swines will be especially interested in a new frozen gastronomic experience, soon to be available at London's Selfridges, The Icecreamists.

Available exclusively at the Oxford Street store, the boutique gelato describe themselves as:

One-part Vivienne Westwood, one-part Hard Rock Boutique and one-part Alice in Winter-Wonderland, The Icecreamists is a deliciously dark and subversive twist on the traditional ice cream parlour. Adult, with a scoop of inner-child, this unique concept is satirical, provocative, playful and unlike anything ever seen before.

With concoctions such as 'The Sex Pistol', which contains Viagra (yes, Viagra) and Absinth, The Icecreamists are adult indeed!

Gastro-geeks will lap up unusal, but perfect combinations such as balsamic vinegar and Tahitan vanilla in the 'Mantecato Italiano', while ironic royalists will appreciate the deliciously regal selection of Ice-Cream sandwiches. Spiced ginger and ginger-nut 'Prince Harry'? Yes please!

The Icecreamists will be available from The Ultra Lounge at Selfridges London, for only 53 nights, from 10th September until 1st November.

There's no doubt these guys believe that ice cream IS sex, fashion and music. I have to make a confession that I really like their posters, especially that one mocking at Sex Pistols' cover "God save the cream" :D Amazingly subtle and creative work. I hope I;ll see the strawberry ice-cream on a luxury sex toy soon. Sex sells.
