On the 12th of February, 202 cities and thousands of people across the globe held Twestival events to raise money for charity: water, and unless you have been offline for all of 2009, I'm sure you have heard about how amazing it was.
According to Twestival's official website, all you crazy, giving Twitterers raised $250,000.
And what does $250,000 USD look like to charity: water?
55 water projects in Ethiopia, Uganda and India, and clean water for just over 17,000 people.
Amazing, right??
While all the Twestival buzz may have died down a little, and given all of the incredible organizers and Twestvial founder Amanda Rose time to catch their breath, charity: water and Rose are back at it, and are currently drilling the first Twestival well in Ethiopia!
The drilling lasts from April 11 - 14, and the team have already uploaded two fantastic videos on their website to show us what's going on.
Day 1
Twestival Well Drilling - Day 1 from Ethiopia - charity: water from charity: water on Vimeo.
Day 2
Walking with Water - Twestival Drill Day 2 - charity: water from Ethiopia from charity: water on Vimeo.
According to charity: water's Twitter account, day three is currently being edited and will be posted sometime today, April 13th, and day four will go up tomorrow, on April 14th.
I am so impressed and moved by what Amanda Rose and the charity: water team are doing, and it's so satisfying to see the funds raised for Twestival being applied so quickly.
