If you're stuck in front of your computer all day long and your employer is The Devil and isn't going to turn on CNN or BBC so you can watch the Inauguration - have no fear, the Internet is here.
Plenty of online folk are streaming the Inauguration coverage. Just to name a few, Hulu and CNN are live streaming the event, as wel...

Today is Blue Monday - a day when we're all meant to be hurled into
a whirlwind of depression, hopelessness and suicidal thoughts. Call me
crazy, but haven't the past six months been kinda like that? Things
just suck. Not even the whole "Yay it's Bush's last day!" can remedy
that. Yes, Obama will be our president as of tomorrow - but that's not
going to pay your electricity bill is it?

Cindy McCain was asked to join the cast of Dancing with the Stars and was, apparently, extremely excited about being on the show. However, her plans were nixed by Sen. McCain: he wouldn't let her be on the show! What the hell, McCain?! We want to see her in all her Stepford glory! Can you imagine the dresses?

President Bush gave his farewell speech last night, which I'm sure for a lot of people was a speech we never thought that we would see.
Ariana Huffington was on The Rachel Maddow Show to discuss the speech, and beyond her appearance being a fantastic combination of two of our favorite ladies - we loved what Ariana had to say.

There are few things that annoy me as much as PETA, and it seems they've somehow managed to out-do themselves with this one.
Their new campaign (shockingly) does not involve naked women, but is trying to reach out to the kiddos by demanding that fish should now be known as Sea Kittens.

I don't particularly care for Ms. magazine. For the most part, they ignore women under the age of 35. But that's not what has the feminists all up in tizzy about their latest issue. Some feminists are actually claiming that the cover of the Inauguration issue featuring Obama in a Superman-esque pose is mocking Hillary Clinton and her supporters, rather than simply praising Obama for his pro-repro health stance.

Rachel Cooke, I have a huge crush on you at the moment.
Why?
Because your interview with Peaces Geldof was pretty much the best thing I've read in a seriously long time. For those of you who have yet to read Cooke's fantastic interview with Peaches, please stop what you're doing, go and read it, and then come back here and tell me what you think.

While we may be a bit fearful about Kate Winslet going all Hollywood on us - whatever she's doing, it seems to be working: Winslet has now landed herself two Golden Globes!
In an emotional acceptance speech, Winslet said that she "never wins awards", and The Guardian repo...

In the past few weeks, Obama has been heavily criticized for his affiliation with Rick Warren and his involvement in Obama's transition to the Presidency. Today, the Obama team took some steps that might just make up for their ignoring gay voters and gay rights. We've been told that Obama will be removing the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy instated by Bill Clinton.
