Nothing makes a Wednesday morning more enjoyable than the news that a new Radiohead track is in existence. Thom Yorke's melancholy croonings certainly brighten my mood.
Harry Patch (In Memory Of), was made available from the band's website today, for a mere pound. The track pays tribute to the recently deceased, last surviving WW1 veteran, Harry Patch, and as such, all proceeds from the track are being donated to the British Legion.
The characteristically dark track features rich, cascading strings, with Yorke's signature wail soaring alongside.
The lyrics, which quote from an interview given by patch, to Radio 4's Today Programme in 2005, comment on topical issues surrounding the necessity of war.
Download Harry Patch (In Memory Of) from Radiohead's website for £1, and let us know what you think!
