Kim Kardashian Is Not Plus-Sized

By Cate Sevilla

What's worse than sun-burning the shit out of your face? The world thinking you fit into plus-size clothing! I mean, how embarrassing!

Apparently in a recent article in Us Weekly, the mag insinuated that Kim Kardashian was the "perfect poster girl" for Forever 21's new plus-sized range. Kim, who is known for her rather spectacular derier and curves, is not exactly pleased with everyone thinking that she's, like, fat or something.

Thankfully, Kim has a place to defend herself, and wrote on her official blog that:

"I am a huge fan of Forever 21 and I'm very happy they have expanded their line to include a plus-size range, but I am not in that size category and this article makes it sound like I am! I am a curvy girl and I love my curves, but curvy and plus-sized are two very different things. I work really hard to maintain my curves while staying slim and healthy, so to be classed as a "fuller-figured woman" of extra large proportions is a little offensive.

For the record, I am a size 2, not 2XL."

Right.

I mean, it's not like there's anything wrong with being an unhealthy plus-sized person, but I'm just not. OK. I AM A SIZE TWO.

I can understand explaining that, no, I'm not a plus-sized girl, but if I were I would totally wear this line. But, jesus Kim, I don't think anyone actually thinks you're plus-sized. And even if they did, what-the-fuck-ever.

You have more important things to be doing. You know, like lying on the beach and getting sun damage.

jennifer love hewitt used the same "i'm a size 2" response when people were making fun of her bikini photos. i really doubt KK is a size 2. maybe in vanity sizing.

I'm so sick of these deranged body categories we Western women try to fit into. And I think Kim did a piss-poor job of applauding Forever 21's decision to carry more sizes. Aren't "Plus-sized" models trying to maintain healthy lifestyles too? I don't know, but when I see ads featuring curvy, fuller-figured women, they are rarely 2XL sized women on the page. So even in that industry, there are preferences for smaller women. The Moroccan feminist, Fatima Mernissi explains it best when she states that us Western women are trapped in our own harems of trying to maintain the body image of a size 2, 4, or 6.

You know, I resent being called "plus-sized" as if it's something negative... I love my body - all of it - and, think that as long as you're healthy (eat well, exercise) that your body is just going to be whatever shape it is and that you shouldn't try to kill yourself being "skinny." Dude, I'm happier at 160lbs and as a size 10-12 than I EVER was when I was 115lbs and a size 6... Fuck, no one likes starving themselves and going to the gym four times a day. Society has fucked women's perceptions of what a healthy body looks like in the ear...

Oh yah, and I agree KK is NOT a size two...

I took a look at the Faith 21 clothes - while they aren't my style the model wearing the clothing looks normal, healthy and attractive.
