Katie Couric & Sarah Palin: Moose In The Headlights Part II

By Cate Sevilla

Katie Couric, I bow down.

Although we've said that we're no longer going to report on the ridiculous crap that floats around the media regarding Sarah Palin, this one-on-one interview with both Sarah Palin and Katie Couric is magnificent.

While all politicians, including my fave Hillary Clinton, and including Barack Obama, love to skirt around questions and never actually give straight answers, Sarah Palin seems to be the worst at this.

Charles Gibson called it "a flurry of words" in his sit down interview with Palin, and, once again, Sarah's stellar speaking skills and incredible knowledge of the economic crisis (and even John McCain's track record on reform) were both flawless and impressive.

Moments of silence, um-ing and ah-ing, skirting the issues and stuttering? Well done, Sarah.

Katie, you're a bad ass.

A more telling interview was Katie's with democratic vice presidential candidate, Joe Biden. In answering one of her questions, Joe Biden declared that when Wall Street crashed in 1929, Franklin Roosevelt immediately went on TV to let the American people know what happened. Unfortunately, Herbert Hoover was actually the president in 1929 and no one owned a TV yet......Not to mention Joe's contradiction of Obama's views on clean coal (Obama's for it, Joe's apparently against it), and his love of trial lawyers......

Thank you Survivor04, where is this little tidbit on the media stage??? Not important I guess. There are reasons why Katie Couric has the worst ratings onTV, and whoa, whats with the white eyeshadow.... There is a difference between an interview and a "I"ll get you my pretty", damn Katie was almost drueling. She would NEVER treat a fellow liberal democrat this way.

"She would NEVER treat a fellow liberal democrat this way."

I'm surprised you tore yourself away from Fox News long enough to watch another source.

I can't wait for the VP debate. The gab god and Putin's watchdog are sure to be entertaining.

Actually I watched it online. It is a fact that if you want unbiased news you don't watch the ABC networks. It is true that FOX is a conservative network but they always have republican and democratic representatives on all issues...you decide. It is the number one watched news for that reason, people with intellegence and a real interest watch FOX . And Katie Courics interviews of non-democratic liberals are biased. I don't understand the anger toward Sarah Palin. Really, instead of hearing positive things about the democratic party's choices all I hear is negative spewing toward the republican choice. Anything positive to say about Joe Biden??? I didn't think so.

That WAS painful. Watching Sarah Palin do interviews, for me, is always kind of like watching a movie where someone is embarrassing themselves so painfully that I have to watch it, wincing, through my fingers cause I can't even bear to see the humiliation head-on. Katie Couric's obvious condescension was a little painful too. I get what she was going for with the whole hardball journalist thing, but her tone at times kind of bothered me. Also, who let my 14 year-old self do Katie Couric's make-up? For shame, CBS make-up artist.
