Chris Brown's Belated, Half-Baked *Apology*

By Cate Sevilla

Chris Brown’s publicists finally thought it would be a good idea if the abusive singer sat in front of a que card, and made some synthetically sincere comments about knowing that beating the shit out of Rhianna was wrong.

In his apology, he claims that since February he’s wanted to take “full responsibility” for what happened, but says that his attorneys just wouldn’t let him. I'm sure.

The Guardian have done a great edit of the apology, putting in the photos of Rhianna after Brown attacked her in with his *apology* and the stark contrast between her swollen and bruised face and his empty, forced and practiced words is sickening.

How great of Chris Brown to apologize to his “fans” for punching, beating and biting his girlfriend.

I love how his speech writer also dropped in a little “you know, I was raised in a home with domestic violence” just to throw in a dash of “this isn’t my fault” and a pinch of “I am a victim of my environment”.

Statistically we know that abusers have been abused in the past... however, in this instance, it didn’t exactly seem appropriate to bring this up.

Not when he denied it for so long. Not when he was out riding jet skies while Rhianana was at home, emotionally and physically healing from what his fists and teeth did to her.

Nice try, bub. But far too little too late.

(Also, what is he wearing? Perhaps when you're making an apology for beating up your girlfriend, you shouldn't wear a garmet reminiscent of an orange jumpsuit.)

1.

Wouldn't it be nice if people no longer supported Chris Brown financially--never purchase anything ever again that has his "brand". He's lower than pond scum
